The Homestay Program

The Academy of Notre Dame welcomes students from all over the globe and United States. Students from China, Egypt, Hungary, Canada, Vietnam, and the United Kingdom have enrolled and thrived at NDA. The Academy also welcomes students from the United States. Students interested in Middle School (grades 6-8) and Upper School (grades 9-12) admissions are welcome to inquire with the Admissions Office. Inquiry forms must be submitted online to be granted access to the admissions portal. Students may also apply through an agency of their choosing.

Application & Enrollment

The Academy offers admissions for both male and female students in middle and high school.  Students interested in learning more about the Academy should schedule a meeting with our Director of Admissions, Mrs. Kelly.  Meetings may be in-person, over the phone, Zoom or Google Meet.  The Academy offers fall admissions for homestay students - a mid-year transfer is not available.  To apply, please complete an inquiry form online.

Once an inquiry form has been submitted, the NDA Admissions Office will contact families regarding next steps. In order to be considered as a candidate, you must complete the following:
  • Online Academy of Notre Dame application
  • Two letters of recommendation provided by current teachers in both English and Math
  • Recent TOEFL or Duolingo English Test Result(s)
  • Interview with the Director of Admissions via Zoom or Google meet
  • Complete education record (in English with an official seal)
  • Copy of current passport
  • $150 non-refundable application fee (payable by check, money order, or wire transfer)

Once all the requirements are submitted, the application will be under review for an admissions decision. Upon acceptance to the Academy, the student must submit updated health records showing all immunizations and physical exams.  An enrollment contract will then be provided for parental signature and families will be required to pay the International Homestay fee of $4,500.00.

After receipt of the International Homestay fee is received, the I-20 for overseas students will be issued. If the study visa is not attainable, the student will be refunded their deposit, less $100 to cover the I-20 processing fee.  Tuition is due prior to the start of the academic year.
The Upper School Homestay Program is designed to be a long-term venture that leads to an earned diploma.  We do not offer a short-term exchange program.  After completing their high school experience at NDA, our students have been accepted at a number of top tier universities and colleges in the Northeast, the United States and abroad.
"We have an outstanding relationship with NDA.  They offer our athletes a top notch education with the flexibility that fits their busy training & game schedules."

The NDA Experience

"If it wasn't for NDA, I would not be the person I am today," says Olivia.  "NDA is a small, family-like environment which really helped me to thrive.  I had many teachers who played a significant role in my academic development, but my math teacher was the most influential helping me dispel my phobia of math."
"My years at NDA provided a true cultural immersion experience for me. I was one of three international students in the senior class and I was able to quickly build friendships.  My friends taught me note taking skills which became invaluable."
